The Black Oven specialises in wedding catering in remote and unique places, whether an indoor venue or an outdoor site – for those who wish to have their special day in the perfect location.
This is how we differ from other catering companies: we are self-contained and fully mobile. This means we can travel and setup in any location – on a farm, by a river, in a forest, or at the beach.
Use your imagination to find the best location, and we’ll do the rest!
Our roaming area is within the Wellington region and lower North Island; however, we would consider travelling further away if you really need us for your event.
The Black Oven Kitchen
A fully-equipped, self-contained, commercial-grade, mobile kitchen.
Inspired by remote farmlands and the rural lifestyle, our self-contained truck will compliment most countryside settings, as it resembles a charming and rustic cottage, with features such as cedar shingles over stone base, chimney, wrought iron fittings, hanging flower baskets, and country barn doors opening out onto a fold-out deck.
Our fully-equipped, self-contained kitchen has been designed in the spirit of tradition and heritage, and features a cast-iron, Italian-made, wood-fired oven for the creation of delicious cuisine using age-old cooking methods.
